Pharmacy Tech. Supervisor (FT), PharMerica, Louisville, KY

PharMerica in Louisville, KY is hiring for a Full-Time pharmacy technician supervisor.

OVERVIEW

Responsible for coordinating, directing, and monitoring the activities of the ValueMed team for PharMerica’s assisted living customer base. Provides a variety tasks to support assisted living facilities within the organization. This position will be responsible for data entry of prescriptions, customer service, admissions, and collection efforts for a select customer group.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Enters and/or supervises the entry of accurate and timely data into computer system to facilitate the dispensing of prescriptions and obtaining reimbursement/payment.
  • Supervises local ValueMed Technicians and participates in orientation, training, competency assessment, and evaluation of ValueMed Technicians
  • Responsible for ensuring all ValueMed Technicians have necessary state certifications, as required by individual state regulations.
  • Prepares source data for computer entry by compiling, sorting and verifying information.
  • Ensures completion of necessary information from entry sheet and medication orders for data entry and account setup in AS400 system. Review and route documents through Docutrak system to appropriate department.
  • Verify payers and demographic information. Where applicable, fill in gaps in demographic information
  • Responsible for collection efforts of patient level accounts primarily for private accounts.
  • Works with responsible parties, receiving in/out bound telephone calls, providing customer service through explaining why they are being billed and following-up on past due accounts using approved collection techniques.

  • Works with Pharmacy Directors, and Client Billing Services Office (CBSO) to resolve customer concerns/issues.
  • Works with associates in other functional areas, account management representatives and regional operations to resolve customer service problems.
  • Performs customer’s satisfaction calls as needed by the business.
  • Works with other functional areas to resolve customer problems, documents problems in designated database, and notifies appropriate parties of what actions need to be taken.
  • Performs other tasks as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Learning Experience:

  • Required: High School Diploma or equivalent.

Work Experience:

  • Required: *5 years experience in retail or LTC pharmacy; *1 experience in data entry; *1 year experience in customer service.
  • Desired: Experience with admissions and collections.

SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE

  • Required: Ability to communicate effectively. Skilled in operating a computer. Skilled in performing detailed work.
