CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. – For another consecutive semester, Campbellsville University has achieved a record enrollment of 3,006, according to an announcement by Dr. Michael V. Carter, president.

The enrollment for fall 2008 was 2,601.

The fall 2009 record makes 19 semesters of consecutive record enrollments at Campbellsville University.

Campbellsville University also experienced a record number of freshmen students at 517, a record number of transfer students at 191, a record number of students at CU-Louisville at 222, and record numbers at off-site locations in Somerset at 54 and Elizabethtown at 32.

Carter said, “Another milestone in the history of Campbellsville University has been reached with the announcement of a fall enrollment of 3,006 students.”

“In addition to the very fine work of our offices of admissions and financial aid, this represents a growing recognition of the academic excellence that students experience at Campbellsville University and the value of a degree from CU,” he said.

“The increased number of academic offerings, expansion of student life and community service opportunities, new and expanded facilities, emphasis on student retention and growing regional footprint are contributing to the growth in student enrollment and recognition of Campbellsville University as one of the ‘up and coming institutions’ in the nation as recently noted by the U.S.News & World Report rankings.”

Carter also pointed out that while the student population on campus is growing, the student-faculty ratio has actually decreased over the last several years to the current ratio of 12-1.

“We are dedicated to the continuing growth in quality of the student experience at CU as well as in numbers of students. Our goal is to be among America’s premier Christian universities,” Carter said.

Dave Walters, vice president for admissions and student services, credits dedication and commitment of the faculty, staff and coaches at Campbellsville University as the basis of this record enrollment.

“Campbellsville University is no longer limited by logistical boundaries,” Walters said. “Our extension sites, online programs, intensive efforts to reach students in every state and from literally around the world have contributed to this milestone in enrollment.”

He said, “It’s apparent that many people now recognize Campbellsville University as a premier higher education institution. With our improved facilities, growth in academic excellence, high definition student life experiences and successful athletic programs, enrollment records will continue to be broken.”

“Students today want what Campbellsville University offers – a higher education experience where they matter,” Walters said.

“Our employees care deeply about the lives we have the opportunity to impact. Our students tell that story time and again and that results in continued growth.”
