Campbellsville University students came to CMS to host the event for fourth- and fifth-graders.

The CU students read to the CMS students and then explained many different types of poetry.

CMS students were asked to write haikus and limericks, along with concrete poems and free verse poems. They also wrote Black Out poetry.

After writing their poems, students illustrated them. They also glued their poems to construction paper and wrote their poetry on paper plates.

CU students attending the event include Cullen Byrne, Samantha Cano, Keilah Coverstone, Ally Cunningham, Savannah Gregory, Kellie Grider, Hannah Harry, Victoria Humphrey, Jordan Ison, Rachel McWilliams, Kasey Savannah Moss, Taylor Ohlmann, Toni Pfeifferm and Miranda Rzendzion.
