Dr. Joseph ‘Rocky’ Wallace came to Campbellsville University in the fall of 2018 from Asbury University, where he had served for 7 1/2 years as the Coordinator of the Principal Licensure/EDS Degree Program. Previous to Asbury, he taught in Morehead State’s graduate ed leadership program (full-time instructor, beginning as an adjunct).

Rocky is a former school principal of a Kentucky and U.S. Blue Ribbon School (Catlettsburg Elementary), served in the Highly Skilled Educator program at KDE as a leadership consultant to new principals, and as Director of Instructional Support and Adult Education at KEDC (the education cooperative in Ashland, Kentucky).

Rocky’s research area is servant leadership, and he consults with schools and presents on the topic regularly at education and leadership conferences.

Also, he has authored, co-authored, edited, or co-edited 12 books with education publisher Rowman & Littlefield in the domains of school improvement and servant leadership. His most recent was a collaborative effort in 2023 on servant leadership and social-emotional learning–with several other education professors in CU’s School of Education.
