CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. – Campbellsville University’s Office of Admissions staff is hosting“Back to School Bashes” Aug. 24 and 31 in Green and Adair counties, respectively.

“The Back-to-school bash is a new event this year hosted by Campbellsville University,” Paula Caldwell, coordinator for undergraduate admissions, said.

“We want to explore new ways of reaching out and giving back to the community that supports us in so many ways,” she said. “Plus it’s an opportunity to get the word out about CU and give people the chance to get to know a little more about us. We are always looking for new ways to get involved in the community.”

The “Back to School Bashes” are in Green County Aug. 24 and Adair County on Aug. 31. They are being held on the town square of Columbia and in the downtown area of Greensburg, respectively, from noon until 3 p.m. EDT.

The events in Adair and Green counties (one was held Aug. 9 in Taylor County) were designed as an outreach to provide information about CU to the local community and nurture that relationship, but also as a ministry tool, according to Katie Carpenter, admissions counselor.

“A lot of our recruiting is based on college fairs and other events that are exclusively for high school students, and I think this is a great way for us to branch out and reach students of all ages, 1-100!” Carpenter said.

The bashes will feature free food, live music, opportunities to speak with persons from both the Offices of Admissions and Financial Aid and a chance to get your picture made with Clawz, the Tiger mascot.

The first 50 people to arrive will receive free CU backpacks, and Campbellsville University’s radio station WLCU is also planning to be at all three events to provide on-air coverage.

Campbellsville University is a widely acclaimed Kentucky-based Christian university with more than 3,600 students offering 63 undergraduate options, 17 master’s degrees, five postgraduate areas and eight pre-professional programs. The website for complete information iscampbellsville.edu.
