CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. – Campbellsville University professor of social work Dr. Candace Hansford will discuss human trafficking at a Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP) lecture Thursday, Dec. 8 at 6 p.m. in Campbellsville University’s Banquet Hall of the Badgett Academic Support Center at 110 University Drive, Campbellsville, KY 42718.

Hansford said the title is of her talk is “Are our lifestyles fueling the demand of human trafficking?” She will be discussing how some of the choices and actions we make really do impact and feed into the demand of human trafficking – both sex and labor trafficking.

Hansford said, “Most Americans do not really even think about human trafficking and, if they do, they only think about sex trafficking and that it happens in countries outside of the United States.

“This ideology is definitely far from the truth.”

She said she hopes the lecture will be an “enlightening discussion to bring awareness to this issue and encourage people to possibly make some changes in their lives for the better.”

The lecture is free and open to the public. To enjoy fellowship and light refreshments (cookies, fruits, vegetables and drinks) guests are welcome to come as early as 5:45 p.m. Convocation credit will also be available for this event.
