Campbellsville University-Somerset partners with Firehouse Subs and Orange Leaf to hold fundraiser for CU-Somerset First Responder Scholarship

SOMERSET, Ky. — Campbellsville University-Somerset has partnered with Firehouse Subs and Orange Leaf Frozen Yogurt to host a fundraiser for the CU-Somerset First Responders Scholarship Fund on Thursday, Nov. 3.

The fundraiser will take place at the Firehouse Subs and Orange Leaf Frozen Yogurt in Somerset at 525 S. Hwy 27, Somerset, Ky. Firehouse Subs will be open from 10:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. and will donate 15 percent of each order when individuals present a flyer. Orange Leaf will be open from noon to 9 p.m. and will donate 20 percent of each order when individuals present a flyer. Fliers will be accepted both in paper copy and digital format. CU-Somerset staff will have an information table setup to share information about the programs offered through Campbellsville University in Somerset.

“Campbellsville University-Somerset stands behind the men and women who stand on the thin blue line. We are grateful for all of the sacrifices these men and women make for each and every one of us on a daily basis.

“In recognition, appreciation and gratitude of all first responders do, CU-Somerset has established a first responder Scholarship. This scholarship can be applied for by any first responder looking to continue his or her education at CU-Somerset,” Leanne Weddle, director of student services at CU-Somerset, said.

“CU-Somerset appreciates Orange Leaf and Firehouse Subs willingness to support our CU-Somerset First Responder Scholarship Fund,” Leah Franklin, director of CU-Somerset, said. The scholarship will be funded by gifts from individuals and local business.

“Our prayer is to build a substantial scholarship fund that will help first responders in our community,” Franklin said.

“Please come out and support Firehouse Subs and Orange Leaf this Thursday as they help us support our local first responders who graciously serve us daily,” Weddle said.
