CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. – The Campbellsville University String Chamber Ensemble will present its spring concert, under the direction of Dr. J. Robert Gaddis, dean of the School of Music, Sunday, April 29 at 3 p.m. at The Gheens Recital Hall of the Gosser Fine Arts Center.
The program includes the Holberg Suite and Ases Tod by Edvard Grieg, conducted by Nilson Galvão Jr., a graduate conducting student from Recife, Brazil. Alla Rustica by Antonio Vivaldi and Serenade for Strings by Josef Suk will be conducted by Wan-Soo Cho, a graduate conducting student from Busan, Korea.
The final selection on the program, Cycle Journey, was written by a master’s student in the School of Music who performs with the String Chamber Ensemble, Diogo Pimentel from Rio de Janiero, Brazil. The concert is free and open to the public.
Members of the String Chamber Ensemble include: violin I – Aline Araujo of Brazil; Ju-Eun Kim of Korea; Sung-Man Lee of Korea; and Diogo Pimentel of Brazil;
Violin II – Wan-Soo Cho of Korea; Fabricio Soares of Brazil; Li-Hao Chiang of Taiwan; Ben Probus of Buffalo, Ky.; and Juliana Moura of Miami, Fla.;
Viola – Nilzeth Santos of Brazil; Denis Santos of Brazil; Sara Rangel of Brazil; and Roger Noel Davis of Campbellsville;
Cello – Nilson Galvão Jr. of Brazil; Felix Borges of Brazil; Saulo DeAlmeida of Brazil; and Gabriella Santos of Brazil;
Bass – Jonathan Chaudoin of Louisville, Ky., and Jezimar Norberto of Springfield, Ky., formerly of Brazil.
