CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. – Donna Irwin, assistant professor of education at Campbellsville University, recently received her Ph.D. in music education from the University of Kentucky.
While at CU, she has served as a student-teacher supervisor, an applied voice instructor and chamber choir director.
Irwin taught in the Marion County School System in Lebanon, Ky. as a general music teacher for grades 6 – 8 and the high school and middle school chorus director from 1993 to 2001.
She earned both her bachelor and master of music in music education degrees from Campbellsville University. She also has a Rank II in vocal music for grades K – 12
Irwin was named the Kentucky Music Educator’s Association College/University Music Teacher of the Year in 2004, Who’s Who in America 2003 and 2004 and Who’s Who in American Education 2004.
She is a member of the Kentucky Music Educator’s Association, the Music Educator’s National Conference, the American Choral Director’s Association and the Kentucky Association of Gifted Education.
Irwin has been employed at CU since 2001.
She is married to Michael Irwin and they have one son, Mitchell. She is the daughter of Fred and Linda Rice of Hickman, Ky.
