CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. – Teresa Spurling, assistant professor of education at Campbellsville University, recently received her Ph.D. from Capella University.
Spurling was employed at the Kentucky Department of Education from 1998 to 2001 as a state science consultant and at the Taylor County Board of Education from 1971 to 2001.
She received her bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Campbellsville College in 1970, master of arts degree from in 1973 and Rank I in 1979 from Western Kentucky University and a Ph.D. in biblical studies from the American College of Metaphysical Theology in 2003.
Spurling is a member of the National Science Teachers Association, the Kentucky Association of Teacher Educators, the Kentucky Association of College Teachers of Education and the Kentucky Association of National Board Certified Teachers.
She received CU’s Excellence in Teaching Award in 1989, was named a Kentucky Colonel in 1991, has been named to Who’s Who Among American Teachers, Who’s Who of Emerging Leaders in America and received the Golden Apple award in 1998.
Spurling is a member of the Taylor County Historical Society, the Kentucky Historical Society and the Daughters of the American Revolution.
She has been employed at CU since 2001.
She is married to Jimmie R. Spurling and they have four children, Mark Anthony, David Alan, Ronald Dale and Aaron Ray.
Spurling resides in Campbellsville.
