Career Services hosts Job and Internship Fair at Campbellsville University

CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky, – Students at Campbellsville University were exposed to a range of various careers and options and received information on internships and employment during the recent Job and Internship Fair in the Betty Dobbins Heilman Student Welcome Center on campus.

Carter Pollard, a senior from Christian County, Ky., said he attended the job fair to explore the various possibilities and jobs that were available in marketing, as he is about to graduate this winter.

Pollard explained he went to the Job and Internship Fair “to see the possibilities and areas that I might be interested in going into.”

He likewise shared that he “was very interested in the banking area, as well as the counseling business.”

Pollard detailed that he really enjoyed his time at the Job Fair, the people he got to talk to and the knowledge he was able to obtain about future employment.

Gentry Phillips, a junior from Mt. Vernon, Ky., is majoring in middle school education with an emphasis in math and social studies.

“I went to see the jobs and possible employment options they had available,” Phillips explained. “I wanted to see if they had more public or private schools available and see if there were any public school jobs available and what they were.”

Phillips said how he would go back as he “learned of other jobs that could fit into my career and work with similar people.”

Teresa Elmore, director of career services at Campbellsville University, shared, “We were very pleased to have 64 companies/agencies represented at the Fall 2023 Job and Internship Fair.”

She added, “Approximately 131 students and prospective job seekers and other guests came through the job fair to learn about the companies and the employment opportunities each offered.”

“Graduate schools and CU Technology Training Center programs were also represented to share information about their programs.”
