CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. – Campbellsville University’s Athletic Hall of Fame has three new members.
Dr. David Morris, chair of the CU Board of Trustees; Dr. Donna Wise, CU’s Lady Tigers basketball coach for 32 seasons; and Ronnie Hord, CU basketball and baseball player for whom the H & W Sport Shop Ronnie Hord Fieldhouse is named, were inducted at a brunch Sept. 13 in Winters Dining Hall.

Ronnie Hord
Ronnie Hord graduated from Campbellsville College in 1967 with a Bachelor of Arts in Physical Education and Biology. He attended Western Kentucky University where he graduated in 1969 with a Master’s Degree in Health Education.
In 1964, Coach George Sadler offered Hord a full scholarship to play basketball and baseball for the college. Hord played basketball at CU from 1964 to 1966 and was co-captain his senior year.
Hord has also been successful in his career fields, first teaching school and coaching, and then in 1969, he and Wayne Wells established H&W Sport Shop in Campbellsville. In 1974, Hord became the sole owner of H&W Sport Shop. H&W was voted Retail Business of the Year in 2007, and in 2009 H&W will celebrate its 40th anniversary becoming one of the largest team dealers in the Commonwealth of Kentucky.
In 1985, Hord and Don Bishop started an athletic booster club for Campbellsville College. Hord became the first Campbellsville College Booster Club President. Under his leadership, the booster club was instrumental in starting a football program and today continues supporting all athletic teams.
In 2005, CU named a building in his honor when the Athletic Annex became the H&W Sport Shop Ronnie Hord Fieldhouse.
Hord is married to Laura Hord and has three children, two stepchildren with seven grandchildren. The Hords are members of Woodlawn Christian Church, and they enjoy spending time with family and traveling.
Hord is past president of the Campbellsville-Taylor County Chamber of Commerce and the Campbellsville Community Club.
Hord has exemplified tremendous dedication to Campbellsville University throughout the years as well as to the community of Campbellsville. His attributions to the institution continue to build his legacy.

Dr. David Morris
Dr. David Morris exemplifies Christian servant leadership in all areas of his life. He is a graduate of Northern Kentucky University with a Bachelor of Science in Economics and Business Administration and is an executive with Procter and Gamble in Cincinnati, Ohio.
Dr. Morris has served on the Campbellsville University Board of Trustees since 1995 and has served several terms as chairman of the Board. He is a deacon and treasurer of Paint Lick Baptist Church in Warsaw, Ky., and treasurer of the Ten Mile Baptist Association. He has served on the Mission Board of the Kentucky Baptist Convention. He has also served for several years on the Gallatin County Board of Education where he has served as chair.
Dr. Morris is married to Shirley Ann Morris, and they are the proud parents of two children and two grandchildren. He has served as a member of the National Association of Purchasing Managers and member of the Greater Cincinnati Minority Supplier Development Council.
Dr. Morris’ parents attended Campbellsville University (then Campbellsville College) in the late 1940s, and they were honored by the naming of the Tuggle-Morris Wellness Center. Dr. Morris provided the lead gift for the Tuggle-Morris Wellness Center. He and his wife have been faithful donors to a number of other Campbellsville University projects and programs.
He is a strong supporter of Campbellsville University Tiger athletics and has provided invaluable support to numerous athletic programs to enrich the experience of student athletes. Truly Dr. Morris is an outstanding Christian servant leader who has given of himself in service to others, and he has demonstrated an understanding of and appreciation for the value of intercollegiate athletics in the life of Campbellsville University.

Dr. Donna Wise
Dr. Donna Wise, after 32 seasons as head basketball coach, is ranked as the winningest coach in NAIA Division I basketball. On December 12, 2003, she became one of 12 female coaches nationally and Kentucky’s only female coach to win 6oo games.
Her .724 winning percentage in the 944 games coached ranks in the NAIA’s top ten. In 23 seasons, Wise directed her teams to 20 or more wins finishing with 661 wins with only 283 losses. Campbellsville ranked as the fifth winningest program and top three in the NAIA in trips to the national tournament with 17 during her career.
Campbellsville captured eight consecutive conference or district championships during her tenure, and her teams made NAIA Elite Eight appearances five times. She also coached 23 players who accumulated 46 All-American awards.
Wise has received 20 awards from various associations recognizing her as Coach of the Year. The NAIA inducted her into its Hall of Fame in 2000. Her alma mater, Eastern Kentucky University, recognized her with the Hall of Distinguished Alumni in 2005. She has also been Campbellsville’s Chamber of Commerce Citizen of the Year and Educator of the Year, and the Business and Professional Women’s Club recognized Wise with its Woman of the Year achievement award.
Following retirement in 2007, Wise continued her efforts internationally helping to build a basketball court in Zambia while providing instruction to AIDS orphans in local villages. In 2001, she conducted basketball clinics throughout Brazil.
From the moment she took the court in November of 1975 at Campbellsville, “Wiz” as she is fondly referred as, has implemented her philosophy of commitment to accepting nothing but the best from oneself in life’s journey of sharing God’s love and purpose through basketball.
