TO SELL BOOK ON WWII SOLDIERS JULY 18 AT WAL-MART

CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. – If you didn’t get a chance to get a copy of Campbellsville University’s World War II book, titled “They Were Soldiers, The stories of those from Taylor County who served during World War II,” on July 4, you have another opportunity.

 

The book will be offered for sale Saturday, July 18, at Wal-Mart at 725 Campbellsville Bypass from 9 a.m. until noon.

 

The book features stories on local soldiers written by students in the mass communication department at CU. Proceeds from the book go toward mass communication student scholarships.

 

The book was funded by a grant from the WEL (Writing, Engagement, Learning) Program at the university.

 

The veterans included in the book are: William Conrad Claycomb, Garnett Henderson, J. Lynwood Kessler, Herman W. Rattliff, Bill Sears, W.I. Rucker, Buford Wilson, Kenneth Eugene Alfrey, Rhoden Skaggs, J.C. Furkin, Robert Oldham, Turner Gaddie, Jimmie Graves, Robert “Bobby” Miller, Ralph Tesseneer and M.B. Gaskins. Furkin died while the book was being prepared for publication. His wife has been invited to the book signing.

Campbellsville University is a private, comprehensive institution located in South Central Kentucky.
