CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky.— Campbellsville University will host Dr. Mike O’Neal, senior pastor of Campbellsville Baptist Church, for chapel on Wednesday, Oct. 16 at 10 a.m. at Ransdell Chapel at 401 N. Hoskins Ave., Campbellsville.

O’Neal was born and raised in Louisville, where he first heard the gospel and where he got baptized in October 1978. He was called into vocational ministry about five years later.

While pastoring in Texas, he received his Master of Divinity from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth. His first pastorate was Garner Baptist Church in Parker County, Tx.

In 1990 O’Neal and his family moved back to Kentucky and in 1996 he received a Ph.D. in Old Testament Theology at The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary.

O’Neal was a pastor at Columbia Baptist Church in Columbia, Ky. and began adjunct teaching for Campbellsville University. He also began serving on CU’s Church Relations Council.

He has pastored at Hurstbourne Baptist Church in Louisville and Smithwood Baptist Church in Knoxville, Tenn. and served on the Kentucky Baptist Convention Mission Board. He published his first book, Interpreting Habakkuk as Scripture in 1997.

He and his wife, Sarah, have three children: Matthew, Rachel and Drew, who is a freshman at CU.
Chapel is designed to provide opportunities for corporate worship and exposure through a variety of informative speakers and presentations.

Chapel is held in the Ransdell Chapel on campus at 10 a.m. every Wednesday and is free and open to the public. They are televised live on WLCU (Comcast Cable channel 10).
