“John David Dyche is an engaging writer and commentator on politics and history,” Dr. John Chowning, founder of KHIPP, said. “He will be discussing Kentucky’s 2015 and 2016 election cycles and will bring great insight to this year’s governor’s race in particular.”

Chowning, who serves vice president for church and external relations and executive assistant to the president at CU, said, “We often see him on WDRB-TV out of Louisville and read his engaging editorials on WDRB-TV’s website. He’s very personable and has a keen intellect when it comes to the politics of Kentucky and the nation.”

Dyche is a native of London, Ky. He graduated with distinction from Centre College in Danville, Ky., in 1982 and was named the outstanding student of government in his class. After a stint with the state Administrative Office of Courts, he graduated from Harvard Law School in 1988, where he was a winner of the Williston contract negotiation and drafting competition and was elected Marshal of his class.

Dyche’s columns appear on WDRB.com on Tuesdays and Fridays and are carried in newspapers in Bowling Green, Danville, Glasgow, Hopkinsville and Paducah as well as in The Kentucky Gazette and The Lane Report.
His articles on Kentucky politics have appeared in The Weekly Standard, and he has appeared as a guest on The Sean Hannity Show, Fox and Friends and C-SPAN’s Washington Journal.

Dyche wrote a political column for The Courier-Journal for 10 years and has done political commentary for Kentucky Educational Television.

Dyche’s book, “Republican Leader:  A Political Biography of Senator Mitch McConnell,” was published by ISI Books in 2009.  Fred Barnes called the book “enormously engaging, insightful, and fun to read,” while George Will said it is “respectful without being reverent” and “takes the measure of this remarkable man.”

Dyche is married, the father of three and lives in Louisville.
