Rice to be honored with reception for Senior Art Exhibit Nov. 18

CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. – Averie Rice, art and graphic design major at Campbellsville University, will host her Senior Exhibition at the university through Friday, Nov. 18, in The Pence-Chowning Art Gallery, 205 University Drive, Campbellsville.

Her reception is from 3:30 p.m. to 6 p.m., Friday, Nov. 18. Everyone is welcome to the free exhibition and reception.

Rice will graduate from Campbellsville University with a Bachelor of Science in Art with an emphasis in graphic design in December. She also graduated in December 2017 from Campbellsville University with a Bachelor in Art with an emphasis in graphic design.

Some of her graphic design media include logos, brand design, printmaking designs, sticker designs and digital ads.

According to her biography, Rice is a creative designer who specializes in freelance art such as photography, graphic design and custom artwork. Her experience as a photographer includes capturing portraits, couple photos, weddings and event photography.

Rice said, “It has always been fascinating to me the power that art can hold. As a creator, being able to use art to express the deepest emotions and give something a visual voice is my passion.”

She was born and raised in Owensboro, Ky., where she said her passion for art began.

Rice used her talents as a multi-disciplinary artist to combine her two passions of graphic design and business to focus on brand design.

Her previous work experience as a social media and marketing assistant, both at Campbellsville University, allowed her to gain knowledge in her field of study.

Gallery hours are as follows: Monday—9 a.m.-10 a.m.; and 4 p.m.-6 p.m.; Tuesday—9 a.m.-noon; and 1 p.m.-5:45 p.m.; Wednesday—9 a.m.-10 a.m. and 1 p.m.-3 p.m.; Thursday—9 a.m.-noon and 1 p.m.-5:45 p.m.; and Friday—9 a.m.-11 a.m.; 1 p.m.-2 p.m. and 4 p.m.-6 p.m.
