CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. – Dr. G. Ted Taylor, a professor of Christian studies at Campbellsville University since 1994, and Jason England, formerly with the Office of Alumni Relations, have changed positions at Campbellsville University, according to an announcement from Benji Kelly, vice president for development.
Taylor is now serving as director of the Big Maroon Club and will no longer be teaching. England will be serving as assistant director of the Big Maroon Club.

Taylor said, “I’m excited about this next opportunity for me at Campbellsville University. As a former coach at CU, I have seen the impact of CU athletics on development character through the Champions of Character initiative and ‘More Than a Game’ emphasis.”
Taylor said, over the past 20 years at CU, in addition to serving in the sports ministry area in the School of Theology, “I have had the opportunity to build relationships with many of our student/athletes and coaches.”
Taylor has also served as director of the Leaderships/Character/Development Institute.
England, who has served as assistant director of alumni relations since 2011, is the new assistant director of the Big Maroon Club.
“Dr. Taylor will be a great addition to our development team,” Kelly said. “He is a visionary leader, and he has been successful in everything he has done throughout his career.”
Kelly said, “With Jason’s experience as assistant alumni director he will strengthen our relationship with our alumni athletes.”
Taylor is serving as transitional pastor at Beacon Hill Baptist Church in Somerset, Ky. He previously served a transitional pastorate at Campbellsville Baptist Church. He has served local churches both full time and bi-vocationally for 40 years.
Taylor also served as transitional pastor at Columbia Baptist Church in Columbia, Ky. two years.
Taylor received his associate of arts degree from Hiwassee College in Madisonville, Tenn. in 1972; his bachelor of science in business administration/marketing from the University of Tennessee in 1972; his master of arts in Christian education from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville in 1981 and his doctorate in education in 1987 from Memphis State University in Memphis, Tenn.
He was born in Knoxville, Tenn., and is married to Sheri Marie Jones Taylor. They have two children, Ashley Jessie and grandchildren, Taylor and Carson Jessie; and a son, Brannon Taylor and grandchildren Reece, Rylee and Will Taylor.

England graduated from Campbellsville University in 2004 with a bachelor of science in sports ministry. He graduated from Taylor County High School in 2000.
“I am grateful for the opportunity to raise support for athletics at Campbellsville University,” England said.
“Being a former student/athlete, I understand the need for a solid booster support organization. I am looking forward to working with an athletics program that instills character values in each student/athlete,” he said.
England played tennis in high school and college. He also played soccer in high school.
He coached the CU Women’s Soccer Team for a couple of year and high school soccer for about 10 years.
England serves as director of Audience 1 Sports Camp, a position he has held since 2007.
“Audience 1 Sports Camp is a Christian-based camp designed to introduce children to the fundamentals of sport and to the basics of salvation through Jesus Christ,” England said.
His vision is to reach athletes in all walks of life and mentor them in the introduction to Jesus and to show them how to be an athlete and a Christian.
England has served as associate pastor/student minister at Saloma Baptist Church in Taylor County since 2008.
England is married to Emily Morgan Chowning England; they have two children: Haley Morgan England and Kenzi Elizabeth England. His parents are Larry and Betty Sue England of Campbellsville.
