Campbellsville University’s Bruns Receives Promotion

CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. – Dr. Eric Bruns of Greensburg, Ky., has been approved by CU’s Board of Trustees to be promoted to associate professor of psychology.

Bruns had been serving as assistant professor of psychology at CU since 2003.

He received his bachelor of arts degree in psychology from Indiana University Southeast in1988, his master of arts degree in psychology and behavioral sciences from the University of Houston Clear Lake in 1992 and his doctor of psychology degree from Spalding University in 1999.

Bruns served as a psychology intern at the Center for the Retarded Inc. in Houston, Texas from 1991 to 1992, as a mental health associate at Acute Child Psychiatric Services in Louisville, Ky. from 1992 to 1995 and has served as an adjunct faculty member at Indiana University Southeast and Jefferson Community College in Louisville.

He has also served as a staff psychologist at the St. Matthews Pastoral Counseling Center in Louisville and the program director of the Residential Substance Abuse Program in the Division of Mental Health in the Kentucky Department of Corrections.

He is a member of the American Psychological Association and the Kentucky Psychological Assocation.

He is married to Tracy Bruns and they have two children, Jilly and Jeff.
