CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. – Campbellsville University senior, Laura Slack of Benton, Ky., will be showcasing her artwork on campus until Saturday, Dec. 4, in the Art Gallery at 205 University Drive, Campbellsville, Ky.

“It gives me an amazing sense of accomplishment to produce a piece of artwork,” said the Marshall County High School graduate.

Slack will bring to the exhibit, drawings, paintings, ceramics, prints, jewelry and photographs. The exhibit and a reception in her honor, Dec. 4 from 2 to 5 p.m., also at the Gallery, are free and open to the public.

Slack is scheduled to graduate in May 2011 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Art with teacher certification. She is a native of Benton, Ky.

In March, she worked a cancer benefit through a group exhibit at the Green Room in Taylor County. She also exhibited in a student juried show through the university the past two years, placing first in ceramics and third in sculpture.

“Even though I have been doing artwork for years now, I still feel as if I’m a novice in the art world. I am proud of what I have produced so far,” Slack said. “However, this is merely an exhibit of my potential, and I can’t wait to see where this potential leads me.”

Campbellsville University is a widely acclaimed Kentucky-based Christian university with over 3,000 students offering 63 undergraduate programs, 17 master’s degrees and five postgraduate areas. The website for complete information is campbellsville.edu.
