CAMPBELLSVILLE UNIVERSITY TO HOLD THANKSGIVING
CHAPEL NOV. 18; EVERYONE IS INVITED

CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. – A day of Thanksgiving will be celebrated at Campbellsville University Wednesday, Nov. 18 when faculty, staff and students share the blessings of Thanksgiving at 10 a.m. in Ransdell Chapel at 401 N. Hoskins Ave., Campbellsville, Ky.
The program will be divided into three parts: “We Gather in Thanksgiving,” “God Speaks Through His Word” and “We Give Thanks for God’s Gifts.” The public is invited to the free Thanksgiving chapel.
The School of Theology and the Robertson Worship Committee are coordinating the program. Employees in the offices of the president, vice president for church and external relations and office staff, student services and the School of Music will be recognized.
Dr. John Hurtgen, dean of the School of Theology, will give the welcome and theme of service.
Under the “We Gather in Thanksgiving” portion, Dr. Joe Early Jr., assistant professor of theology, will give a Litany of Thanksgiving. Dr. Frieda Gebert, associate professor of music (vocal/choral), and Dr. Tony Cunha, assistant professor of music and associate dean of the School of Music, will lead in hymns of thanks.
Lauren Toadvine of Hustonville, Ky., a FIRST CLASS mentor, will lead in the reading of Psalm 100, a call to thanks.
Dr. G. Ted Taylor, professor of Christian studies and director of Leadership/Character Development Institute, and lead professor of the sports ministry program, will give a Thanksgiving message during the “God Speaks Through His Word” portion.
DeMarcus Compton of Summersville, Ky., a FIRST CLASS mentor, will read from the New Testament, and Samantha Harrington of Campbellsville will read from the Old Testament.
Dr. Bill Budai, assistant professor of piano, will lead in “Recounting God’s Gifts” in the “We Give Thanks for God’s Gifts” portion of the program.
Kevin Propes, director of the center for introductory studies, will share; as will Shannon Wathen, softball coach; Dr. Beverly Ennis, assistant professor of education; and Dr. Michael V. Carter, president.
New Doxology, a group of students, will perform a song of Thanksgiving.
The Rev. Ed Pavy, director of campus ministries will give a benediction prayer, and New Doxology will give the postlude.
A Thanksgiving offering will be received for Operation Christmas Child.
Chapel is designed to provide opportunities for corporate worship and exposure through of a variety of informative speakers and presentations.
All chapel events are open to the public free of charge.
All chapel programs are also televised live on WLCU-TV–4 (Comcast Cable channel 10) and are streamed live on the Internet.
