CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. – Campbellsville University was “well represented” at the Kentucky Music Teachers Association (KMTA) annual meeting, Oct. 22, Dr. Wesley Roberts, professor of music at Campbellsville University, said.

“I am pleased to report that Milagros Boso Galli (a graduate student from Argentina) was selected for second place in the MTNA Young Artist Competition, Kentucky Division; and our Piano Ensemble gave a fine performance in the Bluegrass Young Artist Piano Ensemble Competition,” Roberts said.

Dr. Bill Budai, associate professor of piano, was elected KMTA president for the 2012-14 biennium; he served as the first vice president/president-elect for the 2010-12 biennium.

Judith Davis, adjunct instructor in piano, served as program presider and won the high school piano ensemble competition in their division.

Roberts presented the program on Debussy’s “Children’s Corner,” and received the annual Teacher of the Year Award.

Roberts is encouraging more contestants for the brass, woodwind and string competitions for next October. “This is a great opportunity for our students and us as an institution,” Roberts said.
