‘What Would Ronald Reagan Say in 2012?’ is topic of KHIPP event

CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. – Campbellsville University is hosting Doug Bandow, senior fellow at the Cato Institute, at 5 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 9 who will speak on “What Would Ronald Reagan Say in 2012?” as a part of Campbellsville University’s Kentucky Heartland Institute on Public Policy (KHIPP).

The event will be in the Banquet Hall of the Badgett Academic Support Center at 110 University Drive, Campbellsville. The public is invited to attend.

The Cato Institute is a public policy research organization dedicated to the principles of individual liberty, limited government, free markets and peace. Bandow specializes in foreign policy and civil liberties and holds a juris doctorate degree from Stanford University.

Bandow worked as a special assistant to President Ronald Reagan and as editor of the political magazine Inquiry. He writes regularly for leading publications such as Fortune Magazine, National Interest, Wall Street Journal and Washington Times. He has been a regular commentator on ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN, Fox News Channel and MSNBC.

John Chowning, founder of KHIPP who serves as vice president for church and external relations and executive assistant to the president, said KHIPP focuses its attention on “facilitating public policy study and issues debate, while encouraging the involvement of Christian leaders in the public and civic arenas.”

He said KHIPP is committed to preparing Christian civic and political leaders for the 21st century.
