Wigginton to present ‘God’s Last Laugh’ in Holy Week lecture

CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. – Dr. Scott Wigginton, associate professor of pastoral ministries and counseling at Campbellsville University and part-time minster of counseling at Campbellsville Baptist Church, will be giving a lecture on “God’s Last Laugh: The Humor and Hope of the Resurrection” during Holy Week.

The Holy Week lecture is Monday, April 2 from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. in the Badgett Academic Support Center Banquet Hall located on the campus of Campbellsville University at 110 University Drive, Campbellsville, Ky. The event is free and open to the public.

Wigginton will explore the connections between the humor and hope, focusing upon a theological understanding of humor and its rootedness within the very nature of God, its evidence in the imago dei and its ultimate expression in the Resurrection of Jesus Christ.

Wigginton is a licensed marriage and family therapist and served for 12 years as executive director of Life Care counseling center and counseling minister at Walnut Street Baptist Church in Louisville, Ky. He received his Master of Divinity, Master of Theology and Doctor of Philosophy from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary.

He is a clinical fellow and approved supervisor of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy, as well as a clinical member of the American Group Psychotherapy Association, and a fellow with the American Association of Pastoral Counselors.

He and his wife, Elizabeth, have three children: Auburn, Hope and Caleb.
