CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. — Nearly 70 Campbellsville University students are spending at least part of their summer in missions and ministry. Whether the student is interning in a church, going on a mission trip or working at a summer church camp, students from CU are all over the world preaching the name of Christ.
“Many CU students are serving somewhere as summer missionaries or on a short-term mission project,” Ed Pavy, director of campus ministries, said. “They are serving in a wide variety of places and in numerous ways. CU students are staffing local, state and national camps like Kentucky Heartland Outreach, Crossings Camps (at Cedarmore and Jonathan Creek), CentriKid and Mission Fuge.”
Several CU students are serving in international ministry this summer including in Mozambique, India, Ecuador, Northern Ireland, Peru, Scotland and Asia.
“In addition to these, a good number of CU students are serving and supporting local churches by serving as summer staff and staff interns. From rural locations to mega-cities and from Kentucky to the far reaches of the world, Campbellsville University students are giving their time and talents in ministry this summer,” Pavy said.
“We look forward to the impact these students will have on our campus when they return.”
Dr. Shane Garrison, assistant professor of educational ministries, said, “We are asked regularly about our School of Theology students and their connection to local churches, and domestic and international mission work. This summer we have over 25 percent of our theology undergraduates serving in a church, for church ministries or overseas on the mission field. Our goal is to produce world changers for Christ, and I believe this proves we are meeting that goal.”
